Job summary

Texas Materials, a CRH Company, is seeking a Construction Job Cost Accountant to support financials from setup to closeout, partnering with operations, subcontractors, customers, and accounting teams.

You will manage billing, job costs, and project performance, with exposure to construction finance and closeout activities in a growing organization. This role calls for strong analytical skills, integrity, and effective communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
• Job-cost accounting experience required
• 1–3 years of construction accounting experience preferred
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
• Experience with Viewpoint and/or HCSS is a plus
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Clear communication with both accounting and operational teams
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently

Responsibilities

• Manage job progress billing, certified payroll, change orders, and subcontractor payment processing
• Monitor job costs, receivables, retainage, and project financial performance
• Partner with Operations on monthly receivable reviews, job-cost adjustments, and month-end job reviews
• Set up new project phases and cost types for Payroll and Accounts Payable
• Review subcontractor agreements and ensure information is accurate in Viewpoint and HCSS
• Research and resolve payment discrepancies with subcontractors and assist with customer payments
• Support project and subcontractor closeout activities
• Prepare and distribute weekly Job Cost P&L and participate in project review meetings
• Support TxDOT DBE agreements and reporting
• Assist with internal and external audit requests
