Job summary

Landmark Properties, Inc. is offering a Summer Construction Internship to assist Project Managers and Superintendents with planning, buyout, and closeout activities. The program runs June 1, 2027, through August 6, 2027, with possible on-site locations in Auburn, AL; Oxford, MS; and Tampa, FL.

Interns will learn Landmark processes, safety and quality programs, and budgeting practices. Interns will gain experience in coordinating submittals, RFIs, deliveries, logs, and closeout documentation,

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in construction management, engineering, building science, or architecture.
• At least 1 year of relevant coursework.
• Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Positive, collaborative attitude with strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers and Superintendents in planning, buyout, and closeout.
• Coordinate information and authorizations to keep projects on time and within budget.
• Maintain RFIs and change logs; prepare progress photos and logs.
• Attend team meetings and promote professionalism on site.
• Support submittals, RFIs, deliveries, and inspections affecting schedule.
• Prepare final project records and closeout documents.

Job Description

Construction Interns will assist Project Managers and Project Superintendents in project planning, buyout, project management, and closeout. This role will involve assisting in obtaining, coordinating and distributing the information and authorizations required to construct the project on time, within budget and to the Landmark’s quality standards. The Summer Construction Internship program will run from June 1, 2027, through August 6, 2027. Possible onsite locations include Auburn, AL; Oxford, MS; and Tampa, FL. Please note these locations are subject to change.

Duties/Responsibilities:

The duties listed below are an outline of the role’s responsibilities and should not be considered an all-inclusive list. As the needs of the organization change, these duties may be modified as needed.

• Construction Interns will learn about:
  • Landmark processes and procedures as they relate to managing the project.
  • Landmark safety and quality management programs and ensure contractor compliance.
  • Managing the project budget by controlling expenditures, coordinating billings, and identifying work not covered by subcontractor.
  • How to maintain RFI logs and change request log.
• Construction interns will assist with:
  • Ensuring the overall success of costs and schedule.
  • Reviewing and processing submittal data and shop drawings.
  • Coordinating submittals, RFI’s, deliveries and inspections, along with analyzing how they affect the project schedule.
  • Completing daily logs, status reports and weekly subcontractor meeting minutes.
  • Change requests, change proposals for price reviews.
  • Documenting and taking progress photos of job site.
  • Resolving punch-list issues prior to occupancy.
  • Obtaining occupancy of the project.
  • Maintaining closeout log and obtaining all closeout documents, warranties and log information.
  • Obtaining Certificate of Substantial Completion.
  • Assembling and preparing final record documents for the project at the conclusion of the job and store them in a secure location.
• Participate in team meetings.
• Maintain the highest possible professionalism at all times and promote good relations and communications on the project.
• Recognize, report, and solve problems in a creative, positive, constructive way and make recommendations for improvements in systems, procedures, and policies.

Education & Experience

• Seeking a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Science or Architecture preferred.
• 1+ year of applicable coursework.
