Landmark Properties, Inc. is offering a Summer Construction Internship in State College, PA and Storrs, CT to support project teams on planning, buyout, and closeout activities.

Interns will assist Project Managers and Superintendents, learn Landmark processes, track RFIs, submittals, logs, and progress photos, while helping keep costs and schedules on track. The program runs June 1, 2027 through August 6, 2027 with on-site field work.

Qualifications

  • Seeking a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Science or Architecture preferred.
  • 1+ year of applicable coursework.

Responsibilities

  • Learn Landmark processes and procedures for project management.
  • Assist with submittals, RFI logs, change requests for cost/schedule impact.
  • Maintain daily logs and progress photos of the job site.
  • Support budget and schedule tracking and coordination with subcontractors.
  • Participate in team meetings and maintain professional conduct.

Construction Interns will assist Project Managers and Project Superintendents in project planning, buyout, project management, and closeout. This role will involve assisting in obtaining, coordinating and distributing the information and authorizations required to construct the project on time, within budget and to the Landmark’s quality standards.

Construction Interns will assist Project Managers and Project Superintendents in project planning, buyout, project management, and closeout. This role will involve assisting in obtaining, coordinating and distributing the information and authorizations required to construct the project on time, within budget and to the Landmark’s quality standards.

The Summer Construction Internship program will run from June 1, 2027, through August 6, 2027. Possible onsite locations include State College, PA and Storrs, CT. Please note these locations are subject to change.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Construction Interns will learn about:
    • Landmark processes and procedures as they relate to managing the project.
    • Landmark safety and quality management programs and ensure contractor compliance.
    • Managing the project budget by controlling expenditures, coordinating billings, and identifying work not covered by subcontractor.
    • How to maintain RFI logs and change request log.
  • Construction interns will assist with:
    • Ensuring the overall success of costs and schedule.
    • Reviewing and processing submittal data and shop drawings.
    • Coordinating submittals, RFI’s, deliveries and inspections, along with analyzing how they affect the project schedule.
    • Completing daily logs, status reports and weekly subcontractor meeting minutes.
    • Change requests, change proposals for price reviews.
    • Documenting and taking progress photos of job site.
    • Resolving punch-list issues prior to occupancy.
    • Obtaining occupancy of the project.
    • Maintaining closeout log and obtaining all closeout documents, warranties and log information.
    • Obtaining Certificate of Substantial Completion.
    • Assembling and preparing final record documents for the project at the conclusion of the job and store them in a secure location.
  • Participate in team meetings.
  • Maintain the highest possible professionalism at all times and promote good relations and communications on the project.
  • Recognize, report, and solve problems in a creative, positive, constructive way and make recommendations for improvements in systems, procedures, and policies.
Education & Experience
  • Seeking a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Science or Architecture preferred.
  • 1+ year of applicable coursework.

  • Ability to prioritize work and meet project deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail.
  • Positive and collaborative attitude with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Critical thinker and self-starter capable of accomplishing a task with limited guidance and supervision.
  • Strong computer skills.

The pay for this position is $21.00 - $24.00 per hour depending on a variety of factors including market factors in the geographical location where the candidate lives.
