Job summary

Chesapeake Contracting Group, an award-winning commercial general contractor established in 1979, is seeking Construction Interns who are looking for hands-on experience in the construction industry. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain practical skills and build on academic foundations across Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina.

Whether your role is in the field or office, you will assist the project manager with planning, budgeting, and execution, participate in on-site

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Construction Management or related field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD.
• Able to work independently and in a team.
• Detail-oriented with high accuracy.
• Willingness to adapt as projects change.
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Assist the project manager in planning, budgeting, and execution.
• Participate in on-site walkthroughs and track progress.
• Identify and report safety or quality concerns.
• Hands-on construction tasks with skilled laborers to learn processes.
• Coordinate with departments to deliver materials and equipment.
• Assist in handling change orders and project documents (RFIs, submittals).
• Support the project manager and estimating team in maintaining daily records.
