Job summary

Whiting-Turner Co is offering an internship for undergraduates to gain hands-on experience in the construction field. Assignments cover both office and job site activities with possible relocation to remote sites.

Interns will assist project teams across bidding to final completion, reporting to project managers or field engineers. Housing may be provided in certain situations, and 40 hours per week over 10–12 weeks is typical.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate student seeking hands-on construction experience.
• Willing to relocate to remote sites if needed.
• Transportation required.
• Work periods are 10-12 weeks, 40 hours/week.
• Housing may be provided in certain situations.

Responsibilities

• Learn engineering and technical aspects in field and office.
• Perform quantity take-off, layout, shop drawing review & log maintenance.
• Review submittals & logs; prepare RFIs.
• Coordinate with owners, architects & subcontractors.
• Attend weekly progress meetings & assist with bid processes.
