Job summary

Whiting-Turner Contracting Company offers an internship program for undergraduates to gain hands-on experience across office and field roles. Interns will assist project teams, participate in all project phases, and may relocate to remote sites as needed.

The internship lasts 10–12 weeks with a 40-hour work week, and housing may be provided in certain situations. Interns will learn cost, scheduling, and coordination duties under supervision.

Qualifications

• Open to undergraduate students interested in gaining hands-on practical experience in the construction field.
• Assignments include office and job site; relocation to a remote sites may be required.
• Transportation is required.
• Housing may be provided in certain situations.

Responsibilities

• You will be learning the engineering and technical aspects of the project both in the field and in the office.
• Tasks include quantity take-off, layout, and shop drawing review/maintenance of logs.
• Review and submission of RFIs, submittals, and contract documents.
• Coordinate with owner, architect and subcontractors; assist with scheduling, costing, and project management.
