Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking undergraduates for a hands-on internship in the Tampa area. You will support project teams through the full lifecycle from bidding to final completion, gaining exposure to field and office activities.

Assigned tasks include quantity take-off, layout, surveys, shop drawing reviews, RFI handling, subcontractor coordination, and attendance at progress meetings. Transportation and relocation to remote sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate student seeking hands-on construction experience.
• Willing to relocate to remote sites if required.
• Transportation is required.

Responsibilities

• Learn engineering and technical aspects of the project in field and office.
• Assist with quantity take-off, layout, surveys, shop drawing reviews, and log maintenance.
• Support submittal reviews, RFIs, coordination with owner/architect/subcontractors.
• Participate in weekly progress meetings and assist with scheduling, costing, and project closeout.
