Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking a Construction Intern for Richmond in 2027. You will work on projects from bidding through final completion, gaining hands-on experience in the field and office settings.

Responsibilities include learning engineering tasks, supporting with take-offs, surveys, submittals, RFIs, and coordination with subcontractors. Housing may be provided in certain situations.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate student in construction field seeking hands-on experience.
• Open to gaining hands-on practical experience in construction across office and job-site environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist project teams in managing construction projects from bidding to completion.
• Learn engineering and technical aspects in field and office.
• Support with quantity take-off, layout, surveys, and log maintenance.
• Review submittals and RFIs, and coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Attend weekly progress meetings and assist with coordination among owner, architect, and subs.
