Job summary

Whiting-Turner Co invites undergraduates to join our internship program in Richmond, VA. Interns will work on office and job-site assignments under supervision, with potential relocation to remote sites. Assignments cover bid to completion, with housing possible in certain situations. Travel and 40-hour weeks are expected, providing hands-on exposure to real projects.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate student seeking hands-on construction industry experience.
• Willing to work on office and job site assignments; relocation to remote sites may be required.
• Transportation is required; housing may be provided in certain situations.

Responsibilities

• Assist project teams in managing construction projects from bidding to final completion.
• Learn engineering and technical aspects in field and office environments.
• Support with quantity take-off, layout, and document control tasks.
• Review and maintain logs for RFIs, submittals, and invoices.
• Coordinate with owners, architects, and subcontractors; attend weekly progress meetings.
• Assist with preparing billings, change orders, and purchase orders.
• Help with cost estimates, scheduling, and safety activities.
