Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking undergraduates for a hands-on internship in the Chesapeake area. You will work with project teams on all phases from bidding to completion, spanning both office and field work.

You will gain exposure to Primavera and Microsoft 365 tools while supporting daily project management tasks, schedules, and documentation. Housing may be provided in certain situations.

Qualifications

• Open to undergraduate students interested in gaining hands-on practical experience in the construction field.
• Assist project teams in managing construction projects from bidding to final completion.

Responsibilities

• Learn engineering and technical aspects of the project in field and office.
• Assist with quantity take-off, layout, surveys, and log maintenance.
• Review submittals, RFIs, and construction documents; assist with billings and change orders.
• Coordinate with owners, architects, and subcontractors; attend weekly progress meetings.
• Assist with scheduling, cost estimation, and project management tasks.
• Support through project closeout and permits.
