Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation is seeking a Construction Summer Intern for an office-based role in Overland Park, KS. You will work closely with superintendents, contributing to daily reports, material expediting, and progress tracking while gaining hands-on experience in engineering, procurement, and construction within an employee-owned environment.

Current students in Construction/Management Engineering programs will benefit from mentorship, labs training, and networking with industry experts.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in accredited university in Construction/Management Engineering program.
• Must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (criminal/civil background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records search).
• In-office, full-time internship with hands-on tasks and mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist superintendents with daily tasks and reporting.
• Prepare daily reports and track material expediting/location, cost and progress.
• Participate in learning opportunities and mentor-mentee sessions.
• Contribute to diverse projects addressing infrastructure challenges.

The Opportunity

As a Construction Summer Intern at Black & Veatch (Office Role - Overland Park, KS), you will play a meaningful role in addressing some of the world’s most critical infrastructure challenges. This internship offers the opportunity to contribute to diverse, impactful projects that support our clients’ goals while fostering your professional growth and advancing the success of Black & Veatch.

As a Construction Intern, you would also assist superintendents in everyday task completion. This may include daily reports, material expediting/location, cost/progress reporting, etc.

Hands‑on experience at an employee-owned engineering, procurement, consulting, and construction company.

Learning opportunities through mentorship and co / lab trainings.

Networking opportunities with leading experts in the industry.

Minimum Qualifications

Current enrollment in accredited university in Construction/Management Engineering program. This intern position is expected to be in the office on a full‑time basis.
