Job summary

Jobtailor in Austin, TX seeks an experienced Construction Project Manager for hyper-scale data center projects. You will own scopes, RFPs, contracts, budgets, schedules, and safety compliance while coordinating with clients, architects, and subcontractors.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in construction project management, strong negotiation and communication skills, and proficiency with MS Office and MS Project.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of construction project management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction, or related field.
  • Direct data center development experience is a bonus.
  • Experience with hyper-scale data centers is a plus.
  • Thorough knowledge of the construction process and management techniques.
  • Outstanding negotiating skills.
  • Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Organized and detail oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare comprehensive scopes and RFPs.
  • Apply knowledge of manufacturing lines, including electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Create and manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, RFIs, Change Orders, and related documents.
  • Motivate, develop, and maintain subcontractor interest in projects.
  • Administer the Construction Contract from inception through construction to project closeout.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets.
  • Manage and administer payment application documents.
  • Interface with local building departments to obtain necessary permits and coordinate project closeout with building and engineering officials.
  • Manage construction scheduling and sequencing, anticipate long-lead items, and recognize critical paths.
  • Advise the client regarding the Construction Contract and related project matters.
  • Verify and validate General Contractor receipt of OFCI equipment.
  • Monitor and enforce onsite health and safety requirements.
  • Schedule and conduct Owner, Architect, and CM meetings and prepare and distribute meeting minutes.
  • Hold weekly production and/or safety meetings.
  • Review jobsite progress for quality and conformance to drawings and specifications.
  • Report cost, schedule, risk, and quality issues to senior leadership.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements
