Construction Inspectors (Remote Site Locations) (Biotech)

GPI is seeking Construction Inspectors to provide construction inspection services on various Road & Bridge Construction projects throughout the state of Connecticut for CTDOT, Turnpike, and Transit projects. Candidates will inspect work & traffic control performed by the contractor to ensure compliance with project plans and specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting the project Resident Engineer with project administration.
• Completing daily reports, quantity calculations, and reports for construction work observed.
• Performing daily construction inspection of work activities, which may include the following:
• Collection of materials samples
• Field testing and sampling of concrete in accordance with ASTM standard procedures.
• Utilizing field testing equipment to conduct in-place density tests of asphalt and/or soil.

Qualifications:

• A High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Prior experience in performing construction inspection.
• Must be physically capable and willing to work outdoors.
• Work Contractor hours, which may include nights and weekends.
• One or more of the following current certifications:
• American Concrete Institute (ACI) Concrete Construction Special Inspector and/or Concrete Field Testing Technician.
• Asphalt Technician Certification (preferred).
• Hot Mix Asphalt Density Testing Inspector / NETTCP HMA Plant Technician.
• NICET Concrete/Asphalt/Soils.
• OSHA 10 Hour Construction Safety and Health Training.
