Job summary

Traffic Planning and Design, Inc. Career Center is seeking an experienced Construction Inspector/ Supervisor to oversee on-site inspections across multiple projects.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years in civil construction, strong communication, and the ability to coordinate teams effectively. The role emphasizes accurate reporting, quantity measurement for payments, and developing as-built drawings while acting as the on-site representative for projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (not required).
• ACI, NECEPT or PennDOT concrete certifications preferred.
• NICET Certification: II–IV preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily inspection of construction work to ensure compliance with plans and specs (roadway earthwork, drainage, paving, foundations, etc.).
• Supervise inspection teams.
• Approve on-site observations of progress, equipment, manpower, and materials on daily reports and other records.
• Measure and record quantities for payment.
• Prepare as-built drawings.
• Serve as on-site project representative.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Provide daily inspection of construction work within a given discipline to ensure the project complies with plans and specifications. Such as Roadway Inspection of earthwork, drainage, paving, etc.; Structural inspection of foundations, piles, concrete, deck formwork, MSE walls, sign structures, etc.; ADA Compliance Inspection of curb ramps and sidewalks, etc.; Traffic Signal Inspections.

• Supervise Inspection Teams

• Approve all on-site observations of construction progress, equipment, manpower, and materials on a Daily Inspection Report and various other reports required.

• Measure and record quantities for payment

• Prepare as-built drawings

• Serving as on-site project representative.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (not required)

• At least one or more of the following certifications are preferred: ACI, NECEPT or PennDOT concrete

• NICET Certification: II-IV is preferred.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Strong work ethic and ability to work on multiple projects and ability to meet multiple deadlines
