Seeking an experienced Construction Inspector to work with a client of ours on a variety of infrastructure projects across the NY region. The proper candidate will have had experience working on several kinds of transportation/highway projects partnered with state agencies or working on projects in excess of $30 million+.

Responsibilities -

• Perform on-site inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications, plans, and applicable codes and standards.
• Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and submittals.
• Document daily construction activities, including labor, equipment, and materials used.
• Monitor contractor work for quality assurance and report deviations or non-compliance.
• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and contractors to resolve field issues.
• Maintain organized records of inspection results, test reports, and photographic documentation.
• Observe and document field tests such as compaction, concrete placement, asphalt, and utilities installation.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and report unsafe practices or conditions.
• Prepare detailed daily, weekly, and final inspection reports.
• Attend construction meetings and provide updates on inspection findings and progress.

Qualifications -

• NICET Certification in Construction Materials Testing, Transportation (Highway), or related discipline — Level II or higher preferred.
• Minimum 4+ years of experience in construction inspection, preferably in public infrastructure or transportation projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction practices, inspection procedures, and relevant building codes and standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and field reporting software (e.g., SiteManager, Procore, etc.).
• Excellent communication, observational, and report-writing skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
• Ability to work independently and in varying weather conditions at construction sites.
