Position – Construction Inspector

Technical Responsibilities

1. Prepare reports on project status, problems encountered, and overall results.
2. Maintain knowledge of construction materials, methods, and procedures.
3. Inspect materials prior to installation and verify appropriate certifications and lab reports.
4. Perform material sampling and testing as required.
5. Direct contractors to rectify all areas of non-compliance regarding safety, traffic maintenance, and site maintenance.
6. Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills.

Educational and Experience Requirements / Professional Licenses and Certifications

1. Experience on projects for NYCDDC, NYSDOT, NYCDOT, PANYNJ, or MTA is a plus.
2. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or a High School diploma with 5 years of experience in construction inspection or NICET II, III, or IV Certification in Transportation/Highway and Bridge Construction or equivalent.
3. Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle for site inspections.
4. Water Main Inspection Certificate.
5. OSHA 10-hour certification.
6. ACI certification.
