Techno Consult Engineering, PC is seeking a field inspector in New York City to perform inspections of sidewalks, curb ramps, and related pedestrian infrastructure, ensuring work meets drawings, specifications, and ADA requirements. You will document progress with detailed reports and photos and support project closeout.

You will coordinate with contractors and utilities, track quantities, and participate in progress meetings, with a focus on safety in urban work zones and accurate recordkeeping.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of construction inspection experience on civil, transportation, or public infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of ADA requirements related to pedestrian ramps, sidewalks, and streetscape improvements.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Experience preparing detailed field reports and maintaining accurate inspection records.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across field and project teams.
• Knowledge of construction safety practices within active urban work zones.
• Experience on New York City public works projects is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with NYCDDC standards, procedures, or inspection protocols is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Perform field inspections of pedestrian infrastructure including sidewalks, curb ramps, curbs, and roadway interfaces.
• Verify construction activities meet approved drawings, specifications, and ADA accessibility standards.
• Maintain daily inspection reports with clear documentation of progress, site conditions, measurements, and photos.
• Observe contractor operations, including materials, installation methods, and sequencing of work.
• Identify and document non‑compliant work, safety concerns, or field discrepancies, escalating as needed.
• Track installed quantities and support documentation for progress and payment verification.
• Participate in coordination meetings and provide updates on field conditions and project status.
• Communicate with contractors, utilities, and project teams to resolve site issues efficiently.
• Assist with punch list development, final inspections, and closeout activities.

Compensation

$50-$60/hr. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, education, certifications, skills, and work location.
