Job summary

Terracon in Pittsburgh is seeking a Construction Inspector to perform daily inspection on active projects, monitor quality, read construction drawings, and verify conformance with plans and specifications.

The role requires NICET/ICC/AWS certifications or progress toward them, a high school diploma (associates preferred), 2–4 years of inspection experience, and a valid driver's license. Safety compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates degree preferred in Civil/Construction Tech.
• Minimum 2–4 years' experience as an engineering technician or similar.
• 1 year experience in construction inspection preferred.
• Valid driver's license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Performs testing, observation, and inspection as directed in accordance with training and the specified procedures.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Provides clear documentation of findings and results.
• Performs basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communication and submittal to the Project Manager.
• Communicates information to Project Manager and other personnel as directed by the Project Manager.
• Draft inspection reports for review by senior inspector and/or Project Managers.
• May assist more senior inspectors on projects.
• Maintains equipment and calibration.
• Follows safety rules and practices and other safety requirements for all projects.
• Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
