Entry-level position supporting the Capital Investment Program, involving basic skills in procedures, operations techniques, tools, materials, and equipment related to public works construction, inspection, fabrication inspection, and materials sampling and testing. Knowledge of basic construction methods, construction quality assurance, and safety practices is required.
As a Construction Inspector I (civil or structural disciplines), you will perform entry-level duties including applying fundamental skills in public works construction inspection and materials testing. You will have the opportunity to utilize your knowledge of construction means and methods, quality assurance, and safety practices in support of Metropolitan’s Capital Investment Program across Southern California.
Schedule: 5 days/week, 8 hours/day, Monday - Friday.

Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, plus four years of relevant heavy construction experience in a journey-level craft (civil, structural, or mechanical), or in construction materials sampling and testing, or fabrication inspection and testing, in accordance with applicable codes and standards. General heavy construction experience may substitute for specific craft experience.
Relevant experience is defined as: heavy construction experience in a journey-level craft (civil, structural, or mechanical).
License: Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent, allowing you to drive during employment, required at application time.
