About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Inspector for the Frederick Douglass Tunnel Program. This role involves conducting comprehensive inspections to ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications. Responsibilities include verifying installation and functionality of systems, monitoring construction activities, interpreting technical drawings, performing testing, and preparing inspection reports. The inspector will also collaborate with project teams to resolve issues and provide technical support, ensuring timely and compliant project delivery.

What You'll Do

• Understand construction codes, standards, and regulations.
• Read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Maintain excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
• Work independently and collaboratively.
• Use inspection tools and software proficiently.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in civil, structural, geotechnical, environmental, electrical, mechanical, industrial engineering, or construction management.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., ICC, NICET) are highly desirable.
• Experience levels ranging from 1+ to 15+ years in relevant roles will be considered.
• Experience in Maryland is preferred.
• Ability to review and justify extra work and cost estimates.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
