Responsibilities include:

• Inspect Transportation Construction Projects: Verify all work and materials meet project plans, proposals, and specifications
• Perform Key Measurements & Calculations: Verify weights, volumes, and measurements to confirm compliance with applicable contract and specification requirements
• Prepare "As-Built" Documentation: Plot and run cross sections, and document project progress
• Conduct Materials Testing: Verify materials meet applicable contract and specification requirements throughout the project lifecycle
• Daily Documentation: Record all inspection activities in detailed reports
• Work Outdoors: Enjoy the variety of working in conditions and environments
• Physical Responsibilities: Be prepared for heavy lifting and manual tasks as part of the inspection process
• Travel Across the State: opportunity to work on various projects throughout the state
• Independent Work: Take ownership of your tasks and work with minimal supervision
• Flexible Hours & Travel: Expect extended hours and occasional overnight stays are part of the role

A valid driver's license is required.

The successful candidate will hold at least two applicable certifications, and one of the following:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or related field
• -OR- An Associate's Degree in Construction Management or related field AND two (2) years of relevant experience
• -OR-If no degree, at least four (4) years of relevant experience. SCDOT experience preferred

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:

• SCDOT Certifications
• CEPSCI Certification
