Description

Fisher Associates is seeking a Construction Inspector (NICET III/IV) for a structures replacement project in Oneida County starting in 2025. The position is expected to last for one construction season beginning as early as April.

The primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Establishing and maintaining strong client relationships in accordance with Fisher's Clientship philosophy.
• Conducting regular on-site inspections to verify construction activities align with approved plans, specifications, and codes.
• Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Maintaining detailed inspection records, including photographs, notes, and reports.
• Preparing inspection reports with findings, discrepancies, and corrective actions.
• Communicating inspection results and issues with contractors, project managers, and engineers.
• Providing guidance on corrective measures for non-compliance.
• Monitoring construction materials and workmanship quality.
• Identifying deviations from plans and specifications.
• Evaluating safety protocols adherence and addressing hazards.
• Collaborating with project team members to resolve issues and ensure smooth progress.
• Attending meetings to provide updates and address concerns.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Minimum of 5 years civil or highway construction inspection experience, with knowledge of construction materials and methods.
• Thorough understanding of NYSDOT Specifications and MURK.
• NICET Certification or equivalent NYSDOT experience.
• Proof of OSHA 10 training completion.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

The physical demands include lifting up to 25 pounds, accessing and navigating construction sites, and working in various environmental conditions such as dust, noise, heat, cold, and inclement weather.
