Job summary

System One, Rochester, NY, is seeking a Construction Inspector for a contract-to-hire, onsite role. Compensation ranges from $22 to $28 hourly. You will perform field testing of soils, concrete and steel, prepare field data and reports, and travel to various sites. Requires 1 year of field inspection experience and an Associates Degree; preferred certifications include ACI Field Technician I, Nuclear Density Gauge, ICC certifications.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in field construction inspection and testing; candidate should be familiar with concrete, asphalt, and soil testing.
• Associates Degree required, certifications preferred listed below.
• New York State HMA certification a plus and prior soils/lab exposure is a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform field testing of construction materials (soils, concrete, and steel);
• Communicate with project managers and sub-contractors regarding inspection, observation, and testing results;
• Transportation of sample materials for laboratory analysis;
• Preparation of field data and technical reports; and
• Travel to various construction sites to perform inspections.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1 year experience in field construction inspection and testing; experienced with concrete testing, asphalt testing, and soil testing.
• Associates Degree
• Preferred certifications include:
  • ACI Field Technician I (ACI 1)
  • Nuclear Density Gauge certification
  • ICC Soils
  • ICC Concrete Placement

• Previous experience in a soils or materials laboratory is a plus
