Hitachi Energy USA INC is seeking a Construction HSE Specialist to protect people, projects, and the environment on our construction sites in Virginia. This role drives a safety culture through audits, training, incident investigations, and continuous improvement across project teams.

You will develop and implement HSE programs, perform risk assessments, and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local requirements while maintaining documentation and coordinating with site stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree is required in a related field.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required.
  • Experience with incident investigations and corrective actions.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ANSI and local regulations.
  • CSP, CIH, or other safety certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
  • Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses while implementing corrective actions.
  • Deliver engaging HSE training for employees and contractors on safety and emergency response.
  • Maintain accurate HSE documentation, permits, reports, training records, and incident logs.
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate HSE requirements into all construction phases.
  • Monitor environmental performance and ensure compliance with permit conditions.
