Job summary

Michels Corporation is seeking a Health Safety & Environmental Coordinator to lead field HSE activities under supervision. You will conduct site visits, audits, and inspections, and support incident investigations while ensuring environmental compliance and safety program implementation across projects.

The role requires traveling up to 75% across the United States, ability to train teams, and building a strong safety culture within a union environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a safety professional in the construction industry.
• 5+ years of experience as a safety professional in the construction industry (desired).
• OSHA 30hr (Construction) for construction training, or ability to obtain within approved timeframe.
• OSHA 510 and 500 (desired).
• Experience with US Army Corps of Engineers projects is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Accredited degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Construction (desired).
• Ability to identify and correct jobsite hazards specific to construction.
• Confident public speaker who can facilitate safety trainings and meetings.
• Willingness to travel throughout the United States, about 75%, with rotations home every 6 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Conduct weekly job-site visitations, audits and inspections.
• Investigate loss incidents and support emergency response.
• Perform environmental assessments and evaluate facilities and job locations.
• Assist operations with implementation and compliance of HSE programs.
