Job summary

Roers Companies seeks an energetic Construction General Superintendent to lead large-scale multifamily projects in North Carolina. You will coordinate subtrades, read complex construction drawings, and enforce safety while reporting daily progress.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience in ground-up construction, strong leadership, and proficient use of MS Office, Procore, Bluebeam, and Project scheduling tools.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Construction Management or related field is required.
• 7+ years of experience in large-scale multifamily or commercial ground-up construction.
• Ability to read and understand architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to coordinate with management, subcontractors, consultants and clients.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the work of all construction subtrades with the main office.
• Arrange, monitor and attend agency inspections.
• Read and comprehend architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and landscape drawings and specs.
• Review shop drawings and reports from testing/inspection agencies.
• Prepare daily log forms and progress photos; maintain project documentation.
• Engage design professionals, subcontractors, PMs and officials to solve problems and resolve disputes.
• Enforce site safety standards and maintain a safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the work of all construction subtrades in conjunction with the main office.
• Arrange, monitor and be present for agency inspections.
• Read and comprehend information contained in architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and landscape drawings and specifications.
• Review shop drawings and other report prepared by testing and inspection agencies.
• Prepare daily report forms, and progress photographs.
• Working knowledge familiarity with computer operating systems including Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel; and opening, preparing, scanning, printing, and sending PDF files and other documents.
• Actively engage design professionals, subcontractors, project managers and local officials, when needed, to problem solve, mitigate conflicts, and resolve disputes.
• Enforce job site safety standards.

Requirements

Education:

• BS Degree in Construction Management or related field

Experience:

• 7+ year's experience in large scale multifamily or commercial ground up construction

Skills/Abilities:

• Complete understanding of the construction process
• Must be proficient in reviewing and understanding all construction documents including specifications and drawings
• Excellent communication skills with various parties including management, subcontractors, consultants, architects, vendors and clients
• Self‑motivated
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Willing to take on multiple responsibilities and complete a variety of tasks to complete projects on time
• High school diploma or GED with 10+ years of related experience
• Knowledge of current building codes and ADA laws.
• Experience with site construction, precast, wood framing, MEP trades, and interior finishes
• A demonstrated understanding of multifamily construction means and methods
• Experience in alternative building methods and value engineering
• Microsoft Office suite to include Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook
• Microsoft Project scheduling software
• Bluebeam
• Procore construction management software
• Ability to work independently leading a small team overseeing the entire construction life cycle
• Review all construction documentation, owner building standards and finish schedules to execute on site
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP trade drawings
• Well organized and ability to forecast all upcoming scopes of work for timely completion
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, understanding that your scheduled workdays may vary according to staffing and project needs

Compensation and Benefits for General Superintendent - Construction

Pay Range: $121,500 - $163,100

Compensation is determined by several factors that vary depending on the position, including the individual’s experience, skills, and the knowledge they bring to the specific role.
