Job summary

Krügel Cobbles is seeking a dependable Construction General Laborer to support outdoor hardscape crews on projects across Chicago's North Shore and Lake County. This is a temporary, full-time position through Thanksgiving 2026, with a schedule Monday–Friday, 6:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

The role involves lifting, bending, digging, and moving materials; no previous hardscape experience required, but applicants must be willing to learn and work safely as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Reliable attendance, punctuality, and transportation to the designated reporting location.
• Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with crew members.
• Willingness to perform repetitive physical work at a steady pace.
• Ability to regularly lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance or equipment used as appropriate.
• Ability to stand, walk on uneven ground, bend, kneel, shovel, and push wheelbarrows throughout the workday.
• Ability to perform essential job duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installing patios, walkways, driveways, retaining walls, and other hardscape features.
• Load, unload, and move pavers, stone, gravel, sand, tools, and supplies.
• Assist with digging, excavation, base preparation, grading, and backfilling.
• Use shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, and other tools as directed.
• Keep job sites, trucks, and work areas clean and organized.
• Follow crew foreman instructions and company safety procedures.
