Job summary

Cycle Construction is seeking a Heavy Civil Construction Foreman to lead field crews on civil and marine projects in South Louisiana. You will plan daily work, supervise crews, and coordinate resources to meet schedules and budgets while adhering to safety standards.

Responsibilities include developing two-week schedules, coordinating subcontractors and deliveries, training staff, monitoring progress, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Foreman or Lead Foreman in heavy civil construction.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, specifications, and construction documents.
  • OSHA certification required; OSHA 30 preferred.
  • First Aid/CPR certification required.
  • Valid driver’s license and TWIC, or ability to obtain a TWIC.
  • Basic computer literacy and ability to use tablets/iPads, electronic reporting systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Basic math skills, including measurements, quantities, elevations, and material calculations.
  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Plan and coordinate daily work with the Superintendent/Operations Manager, reviewing schedules, drawings, specifications, budgets, priorities, and resources.

  • Coordinate subcontractors, crews, equipment, materials, and deliveries to keep operations moving.
  • Train and direct employees on construction methods, equipment operation, safety procedures, and company policies.
  • Monitor job-site progress and quality, inspecting work and ensuring specifications are met.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site; conduct weekly safety meetings and ensure safety compliance.
  • Investigate and report job-site incidents and accidents; complete required documentation promptly.
  • Maintain accurate project records including time sheets, tickets, invoices, cost coding, and equipment checklists.
  • Attend required safety training and monthly supervisors’ meetings; perform other duties as assigned.

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Construction Foreman to assist field operations from project start through closeout. This role is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all work involving construction project(s) in order to complete work on time and under budget. In addition, the Heavy Civil Construction Foreman will properly supervises construction crew(s) at assigned job site(s).

Work Includes

  • Investigate and report job-site incidents and accidents and complete required documentation promptly.

  • Maintain accurate project records, including time sheets, trucking tickets, invoices, cost coding, equipment checklists, and other required documentation.

  • Attend required safety training and monthly supervisors’ meetings and perform other duties as assigned by the Foreman, Superintendent, or Operations Manager.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Foreman or Lead Foreman in heavy civil construction.

  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

  • Working knowledge of heavy civil construction, including earthwork, utilities, concrete, piling, and grading.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, specifications, and construction documents.

  • Proficiency in operating or directing the use of construction equipment.

  • OSHA certification required; OSHA 30 preferred.

  • First Aid/CPR certification required.

  • Valid driver’s license and TWIC, or ability to obtain a TWIC.

  • Basic computer literacy and ability to use tablets/iPads, electronic reporting systems, and Microsoft Office.

  • Basic math skills, including measurements, quantities, elevations, and material calculations.

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Ability to work outdoors full-time in active construction environments.
