Job summary

Sequoia Services LLC seeks a Heavy Civil Foreman to lead field crews on-site, enforcing safety and quality standards while driving on-time project execution. You will coordinate earthwork, grading, utilities, and concrete activities with technicians and subcontractors.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and experience with GPS-based equipment and heavy machinery to optimize performance on busy job sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical or vocational training in construction management preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years in heavy civil construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Proficient in reading blueprints, plans, and specifications.
• Proficient with GPS base stations and equipment control.
• Strong knowledge of heavy equipment operation, maintenance and safety.
• CDL is a plus; OSHA 10/30, First Aid/CPR certifications desirable.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Supervision and Leadership:
• Direct and oversee field crews, subcontractors, and equipment operators on-site.
• Assign tasks and ensure workers understand their responsibilities and deadlines.
• Provide mentorship and training to team members to enhance skill levels and performance.
• Project Execution:
• Coordinate and execute daily work plans in alignment with project schedules and specifications.
• Ensure all construction activities comply with project designs, specifications, and applicable regulations.
• Troubleshoot problems and implement solutions to minimize delays or disruptions.
• Safety Management:
• Enforce site safety protocols to ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
• Quality Control:
• Monitor work quality to ensure it meets project standards and requirements.
• Resource Management:

• Coordinate equipment usage and maintenance to avoid downtime.
• Communication and Reporting:
• Maintain clear and regular communication with project managers, superintendents, and other stakeholders.
• Prepare and submit daily progress reports, timecards, and material usage logs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical or vocational training in construction management preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, construction plans, and specifications.
• Proficiency with GPS base stations and equipment control
• Strong knowledge of heavy equipment operation, maintenance, and safety.
• Familiarity with construction techniques, materials, and processes related to earthwork, utilities, grading, paving, and concrete.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; CDL is a plus.
• Certifications in OSHA 10/30, First Aid/CPR, or other relevant areas are highly desirable.
