Job summary

Twehous Excavating Company Inc is seeking a Financial Controller to support the CFO in overseeing financial activities and to ensure efficient accounts payable and accounts receivable operations. The role includes managing construction contracts, bonding, and insurance processes, preparing state filings, and conducting audits.

The position involves maintaining financial data integrity and delivering insights to senior management for strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
• Minimum of five years of experience in financial management, preferably within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage the accounts payable department, ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor and subcontractor payments.
• Oversee accounts receivable functions, including invoicing, collections, and reporting.
• Review construction contracts to ensure compliance with legal and financial requirements.
• Obtain necessary project bonding for projects as required.
• Prepare and file periodic state filings in accordance with regulations.
• Prepare and manage audits, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Analyze financial data and generate reports to provide insights into the company’s financial performance.
• Assist the CFO in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes, providing accurate financial projections.
