Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in construction finance/accounting/operations
• Strong understanding of commercial construction project management
• Experience with construction project financials, job costing, budgets, profitability
• Ability to understand financial statements and use information to drive decisions
• Experience identifying cost overruns, project risks, profitability issues
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work with owners, PMs, and field personnel
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ownership mindset and ability to operate independently
• Proficiency with accounting and construction management software; QuickBooks a plus

Responsibilities

• Oversee profitability of projects and overall company performance
• Analyze job costs, labor, materials, change orders, billing, and project progress
• Review project performance and identify areas where money is lost
• Provide leadership with accurate, timely information for decisions
• Oversee accounting and financial operations
• Monitor cash flow and financial position
• Help establish processes to improve profitability and efficiency
• Monitor project budgets, contracts, and committed/actual costs
• Review labor, material, equipment, subcontractor costs and change orders
• Ensure proper billing and adherence to budgets
• Identify missed billings and cost overruns
• Support strategic planning and department accountability
