Job summary

American Boring INC in Carroll, OH seeks an experienced Controller to oversee accounting, AP/AR, and payroll while guiding strategic financial decisions. You will manage reporting, forecasts, GL activity, and year-end closes to support budget plans and operational improvements.

The role requires construction industry experience, strong GAAP knowledge, and leadership of a small accounting team. Local in-person work is required with relocation considerations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Controller in a construction environment.
• Ability to manage multiple accounting domains and deadlines.
• Strong organization, confidentiality and communication skills.
• Experience with full-cycle GL close and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage accurate reporting of all financial statements.
• Prepare weekly financial forecasts and management reporting packages.
• Review invoices for payment and AR aging with action on past‑due balances.
• Oversee GL postings, journal entries, and reconciliations monthly/quarterly/yearly.
• Support annual budget and quarterly reforecasting with leadership.
• Assist Field Operations with WIP and job cost reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with tax filings and regulatory requirements.
