Our client, a premier Northeast Ohio construction company based in the greater Akron area, seeks a highly motivated Assistant Controller to support the CFO and lead day-to-day accounting operations in a fast-paced, growing organization.

The role focuses on accurate financial reporting, internal controls, month-end close, and collaboration with project costing and A/R/A/P functions, with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years accounting experience.
• Construction industry experience preferred.
• Proficient in Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Support CFO in managing daily accounting and finance operations to ensure timely and accurate financial information.
• Manage the month end closing and financial reporting process including account analysis and reconciliation.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.

One of our clients, a premier Northeast Ohio construction company based in the greater Akron area, is seeking a highly motivated professional to fill the role of Assistant Controller. The Assistant Controller will report directly to the CFO and will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the accounting and finance departments in a fast-paced, growing organization. This position will help ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and efficient accounting processes.

Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Support the CFO in managing daily accounting and finance operations to ensure timely and accurate financial information.
• Manage the month end closing and financial reporting process including account analysis and reconciliation.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
• Assist with A/R, A/P, cost accounting and job cost analysis.
• Assist in special projects as necessary.

Qualifications:

• BS/BA in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years overall accounting experience
• Construction Industry experience preferred but not required
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to meet deadlines
• Strong overall computer skills and proficiency in Excel and Word
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision making skills
• Results oriented, high level of personal integrity and dependability and a strong sense of urgency
