Job summary

State of Connecticut - DOT Bureau of Administration seeks a Fiscal Administrative Supervisor to lead the Construction Unit within the Financial Management and Support Division. The role focuses on budgeting, payroll oversight, contracts, and financial closeout of construction projects.

The position requires substantial public sector experience, staff supervision, and expertise with Core-CT Financials and EPM. Hybrid work arrangements are available in Newington, CT.

Qualifications

• Eight years experience in fiscal/administrative functions including payroll or budgeting
• Two years at professional working level in Fiscal/Administrative Officer/Payroll Officer II
• Experience with consultants, contracts, and procurement processes
• Experience supervising staff and orienting new employees
• Experience with Excel and reporting
• Knowledge of state/federal laws related to budgeting and procurement

Responsibilities

• Supervises the Construction Unit within the Division Financial Management and Support
• Oversees staff schedules, training, and performance evaluations
• Manages financial services for construction activities and contractor payments
• Oversees invoices for construction, engineering, inspection, and municipal services
• Provides financial support to the Office of Construction
• Coordinates invoices with Connecticut State Police trooper services
• Oversees financial closeout of construction projects
• Develops and maintains written procedures
• Performs related duties as required
