Job description

IMEG is hiring a Construction Field Technician in Nashua, NH, to perform routine field tasks under the direction of the Construction Manager. As a technician, you will support construction projects through field inspection, testing, documentation, and plan interpretation, with work reviewed during the process and upon completion. You’ll also serve as a construction observer by taking field measurements and documentation entries as assigned.

Principal Responsibilities

• Perform intermediate to advanced field inspection, testing, and documentation
• Complete on‑site testing of soils, concrete, or hot mix asphalt independently or interdependently
• Complete laboratory testing of soils, concrete, or hot mix asphalt independently or interdependently
• Attend training to achieve various certifications
• Understand operations and identify potential problems
• Operate and maintain company vehicles and equipment
• Observe safety and security procedures

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Associate’s degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM), or Engineering preferred
• 1 year of experience minimum required, 2 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry preferred
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to write simple correspondence
• Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to read a tape measure in both fractions and tenths
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Must always maintain professional conduct
• Valid driver’s license required with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier
• Advanced/Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays
