Suffolk Construction is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to plan and execute construction programs, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule compliance on projects in the Greater Boston area.

The role involves coordinating with teams, managing field layouts, and administering safety and quality initiatives while mentoring Field Engineers. A bachelor’s degree and 2+ years’ experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and distribute construction documents (plans, specifications, RFIs, bulletins, field reports) to the project team.
• Manage layout and verify field dimensions and accuracy.
• Verify subcontractor layout for line and grade compliance.
• Administer Suffolk's Quality Management Program (First Delivery, Benchmark Inspections) and track deficiencies.
• Monitor on-site progress to ensure compliance with Contract Documents.
• Document daily construction activity with reports, photos, sketches, and software tools.
• Create and distribute daily/weekly work plans, schedules and logistics.
• Attend and participate in meetings with customers and clients, providing updates and addressing concerns.
• Compile permits, testing, and inspections required for project completion and acceptance.
• Assist in administering the Suffolk Safety Program (pre-construction meetings, daily monitoring, enforcement).
• Supervise and mentor Field Engineers on a daily basis.
