Job summary

Hedrick Brothers Construction Co., Inc. is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support our field operations on active commercial projects in Florida. You will assist the Superintendent with planning, sequencing, safety, quality, and scheduling while gaining hands‑on leadership experience on site.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, 2–4 years of commercial construction experience, and proficiency with Procore and Microsoft Office. OSHA 30 certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–4 years of commercial construction field experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Working knowledge of commercial construction methods and CSI MasterFormat divisions.
• OSHA 30‑Hour certification or willingness to obtain.
• First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
• AGC Supervisory Training Program (STP) completed or willingness to complete.
• Valid Florida driver's license and reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Superintendent with project planning, sequencing, logistics, and staffing activities.
• Support development and maintenance of project schedules and short‑term look‑ahead plans.
• Coordinate daily activities with trade partners and help resolve field issues.
• Procure and track delivery of tools, equipment, and materials.
• Assist in preparing RFIs and communicating questions to the project team.
• Support manpower planning and identify potential schedule impacts.
• Complete daily reports, progress photos, inspections, and safety documentation in Procore.
• Maintain organized project records, logs, drawings, sign‑in sheets, labor reports, and material tracking.
• Inspect work in place to verify compliance with plans, specifications, and project standards.
• Support change order documentation, pricing requests, and delay notifications.
• Assist with project closeout documentation and punch list activities.
• Champion safety culture and OSHA compliance; conduct toolbox talks and safety inspections.
• Maintain SDS files, safety signage, emergency contacts, first‑aid supplies, fire extinguishers, and PPE inventories.
