Job summary

Under general supervision, this position performs inspection of contractors’ work, including documentation of contractors’ work, entry-level survey duties, assisting with the staking and layout of highway construction and performing basic tests of materials.

The department requires travel within the district and the ability to use SiteManager or other inspection software for reporting. A high school diploma and valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Basic mathematical skills including fractions and decimals.
• Basic computer skills and Windows familiarity.
• Willingness to travel frequently within the district.

Responsibilities

• Inspect contractors’ work and document activities per policy.
• Assist in surveying duties and layout/staking for projects.
• Maintain surveying equipment and assist with material tests.
• Record tests and inspections using SiteManager or similar software.
• Drive a department vehicle to sites across the district.
