Job summary

Virginia Paving is seeking a Field Engineer to track quantities, cost, and scheduling for company crews and subcontractors. You will help develop work plans, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure work aligns with project specifications on asphalt and road projects.

The role requires a Civil or Construction Management degree and 1–3 years of relevant experience, with strong communication skills and proficiency in Primavera, SAP, and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (or equivalent) is required.
• Minimum of 1–3 years of experience; not entry-level.
• Experience as a Construction Scheduling Engineer or in Project Controls is required, with asphalt/roads/bridges preferred.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees.

Responsibilities

• Track quantities, cost, and scheduling for crews and subcontractors.
• Develop work plans and coordinate subcontractors on projects.
• Maintain project budgets, cost codes, and SAP time entries; discuss anomalies with management.
• Prepare shop drawings as needed and ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Communicate project progress and issues to project engineer and manager.
