Job summary

HNTB in San Antonio, TX seeks an Engineer in Training (EIT) to support construction inspection and documentation for projects across multiple counties. The role emphasizes conformity to plans, coordination of QC inspections, and reporting progress with on-site testing and site records.

Candidate will read drawings, review contractor reports, and liaise with the Resident Engineer to resolve issues. PE license must be obtained within four years of hire; this is an in-person, non-remote position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with construction field work to ensure conformance to plans and specifications.
• Coordinate and schedule quality control inspections.
• Observe on-site material testing and coordinate testing and monitoring services.
• Prepare progress reports using video and photo documentation.
• Consult with the Resident Engineer and assist in resolving issues, liaising with the engineer of record.
• Maintain tracking logs for RFIs, submittals, pay estimates and other deliverables.
• Perform office engineer tasks as needed, including meeting agendas/minutes.
