Job summary

Hunter Engineering Inc. seeks a Staff Engineer (E.I.T.) to join our civil engineering team and progress toward P.E. licensure. This role offers mentorship and diverse project exposure, with opportunities to learn and advance.

Design streets, utilities, and stormwater systems, perform hydrology analyses, and use AutoCAD Civil 3D for drafting. You will prepare reports, support senior engineers, and engage with clients and agencies across project lifecycles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program is required.
• Engineer Intern (E.I.T.) certification required, or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• 0-5 years of civil engineering experience, new graduates welcome.
• Working knowledge of civil engineering principles and design standards.
• Intermediate proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Eagerness to learn and develop professionally.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Design streets, utilities, and stormwater systems per local and state standards.
• Run hydrology/hydraulic calculations for stormwater management.
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D for drafting, grading, and earthwork calculations.
• Generate submittal packages for land use applications.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, and construction documents.
• Conduct field visits for site verification and construction observation.
• Engage with clients, agencies, and stakeholders.
• Perform plan reviews for technical accuracy.
• Support senior engineers throughout all project phases.
• Participate in client meetings and project coordination calls.
