Job summary

John Moriarty & Associates of Virginia (JMAV) is seeking a Field Engineer to support the Superintendent in the Washington DC Metro area, overseeing field forces (Moriarty employees and subcontractors) to ensure work is built per plan, schedule, and quality.

The Field Engineer should reside within daily driving distance of the DC area and must read plans, emphasize jobsite safety, and communicate effectively.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret construction plans/drawings.
• Strong communication and client service skills.
• Knowledge of construction drawings and specifications.
• Ability to perform material takeoffs and estimates.
• Familiarity with area schedules.
• OSHA 10 and First Aid/CPR certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist field personnel in their site-specific responsibilities.
• Assist field personnel in quality control inspections and documentation.
• Ability to perform construction material takeoffs and make estimates for future needs.
• Understand company/project safety plan.
• Assist with administration of subcontractor safety training and compliance.
• Assist with coordinating subcontractor deliverables for project execution.
