Overview

At DAVIS, we're redefining the way people experience construction by building success for all. The Construction Executive is responsible for multiple projects. This role is responsible for developing, mentoring, and providing overall leadership to project staff with an emphasis on providing direct guidance and leadership to Field Management staff. The Construction Executive may be involved in corporate initiatives, both internal and external.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Twenty (20) years of construction operations experience OR Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field and at least fifteen (15) years of progressing supervisory overall building construction experience.
  • Construction experience in multiple market sectors such as Base Building, Interior, Renovation, Healthcare, Education and / or Mixed Use.
  • Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings, and a familiarity with building codes.
  • Strong decision making, research and analytical problem‑solving skills.
  • Certifications for CPR / First Aid and OSHA 30‑hour.
  • Proficiency with computer‑based scheduling software, spreadsheet applications, project management software, and virtual construction software.
  • Knowledge and understanding of sustainable construction (ex. LEED).
  • Strong ability to manage a team and lead a project to a successful outcome.
Technical Job Knowledge
Safety Leadership & Compliance
  • Ensures projects are aligned with DAVIS’ best practices and OSHA/industry standards, providing guidance to project teams in implementing safety measures.
  • Implements processes and controls derived from lessons learned regarding safety to mitigate risks and hazards across all projects.
  • Ensures that safety management plans are in place and followed across all sites under their leadership, setting the standard for the entire project team.
Quality Management and Best Practices
  • Ensures projects are aligned with DAVIS’ best practices and standards, providing guidance to project teams in implementing quality measures.
  • Implements processes and controls derived from lessons learned regarding quality to mitigate risks and hazards across all projects.
  • Ensures that quality management plans are in place and followed across all sites under their leadership, setting the standard for the entire project team.
Risk Identification, Technical Risks & Contingency Planning
  • Ensures project teams proactively identify potential technical risks (e.g., safety risks, schedule delays, quality concerns) and provides assistance using deep experience and technical knowledge to deliver solutions that minimize project disruption.
  • Ensures project teams make contingency plans based on technical insights, ensuring the project remains on track even when unexpected issues arise.
  • Implements processes and controls derived from lessons learned regarding safety and quality to mitigate risks and hazards across all projects.
Communication, Collaboration & Stakeholder Alignment
  • Works closely with stakeholders, including owners, designers, and trade partners, to maintain effective relationships and ensure smooth project operations.
  • Regularly communicates with all project team members, providing clear direction and guidance to ensure alignment with project goals and corporate objectives.
  • Ensures seamless project coverage during team members’ leave, maintaining continuity of operations and meeting all project deadlines.
  • Shares lessons learned with project teams, promoting continuous improvement and better decision‑making.
  • Represents the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to build relationships and promote DAVIS’ values and expertise.
Documentation, Compliance & Contract Oversight
  • Ensures project teams are reviewing and managing project documentation such as contracts, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ensures project teams are in compliance with contract requirements and maintaining effective project documentation.
  • Ensures project teams maintain proper documentation, including safety reports, quality checklists, and other project‑related paperwork; ensures compliance with all industry and corporate standards.

Compensation & Benefits

The base salary range for this position is $160,000.00 - $235,000.00. DAVIS offers a competitive total compensation package that includes 100% employer‑paid health care plan (to include family), life insurance, short‑ and long‑term disability benefits, an annual contribution to your HSA, annual incentive bonus, paid time off + annual holidays, financial benefits (401(k), Roth, and ESOP), FSAs, fertility and family‑forming assistance, and continuing education. Additional benefits include Employee Assistance Program (EAP), on‑site fitness center, and parental leave. Eligible employees are provided a company vehicle or an auto allowance.
