Job summary

PM Construction in Maine seeks an estimator to prepare proposals and estimates, review RFPs, specs and plans to determine scope, materials, compliance, and costs for each project.

The role requires strong knowledge of construction estimating, interaction with customers, construction managers, subcontractors, and material vendors, and the ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with estimating experience.
• Experience reading plans and specifications.
• Proficiency in MS Office required.
• Experience with takeoffs and estimating software is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and coordinate all functions of the estimating process.
• Review project plans and specs for accurate bid assessments.
• Prepare complete cost listings including labor, materials, equipment, and compliance.
• Solicit subcontractor and supplier information for pricing.
• Travel to job sites as needed.
• Document current and past estimates.
• Coordinate RFQ paperwork.
• Assist with pre-qualification documentation.
