Job summary

Bulldog Sitework LLC in Central Florida is seeking a Construction Estimator / Project Coordinator to join our hands-on team. The role blends estimating with project coordination, ensuring bids are accurate and projects run smoothly from award through completion.

You will review plans, perform quantity takeoffs for sitework and underground utilities, prepare proposals, and coordinate with GCs, owners, engineers, and suppliers. Strong Excel and multi-project skills are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

Bulldog Sitework LLC is a growing sitework and underground utilities contractor serving Central Florida. We specialize in underground utilities, stormwater, and related sitework.

We are looking for a Construction Estimator / Project Coordinator to join our team. This is a hands-on position for someone who understands construction and can work comfortably between estimating and project coordination.

Job Duties

• Review construction plans, specifications, scopes of work, and bid documents


• Perform quantity takeoffs for sitework, underground utilities, stormwater, concrete, asphalt, and related scopes


• Prepare detailed estimates and proposals


• Obtain and compare subcontractor and supplier pricing


• Identify project requirements, exclusions, potential risks, and scope gaps


• Assist with bid solicitation and follow-up


• Maintain estimating records and historical cost information


• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed

Project Coordination

• Assist with projects from award through completion


• Review plans, specifications, contracts, and change order requirements


• Coordinate with general contractors, owners, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel


• Track project schedules, material deliveries, submittals, RFIs, and other project requirements


• Prepare and track change orders and supporting documentation


• Assist with job costing and monitoring project performance


• Help identify potential delays, additional costs, and project issues before they become problems


• Communicate project information between the office and field


• Maintain organized project documentation and records


• Assist with closeout and final project documentation

What We're Looking For

• Construction estimating and/or project coordination experience


• Experience with sitework, underground utilities, stormwater, excavation, or civil construction strongly preferred


• Ability to read and understand civil construction plans and specifications


• Strong understanding of construction means and methods


• Comfortable performing quantity takeoffs and working with unit costs


• Strong attention to detail and organization


• Good written and verbal communication skills


• Ability to communicate effectively with field crews, subcontractors, suppliers, GCs, and engineers


• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other standard office software


• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines


• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills


• Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned work

Preferred Experience

• 2+ years of construction estimating, project coordination, or related experience


• Experience with FDOT, municipal, or commercial civil construction


• Experience with estimating/project management software


• Knowledge of Central Florida construction practices and subcontractor/supplier markets
