Job summary

Monigold Solutions in Orlando is seeking an experienced Estimator to join its established construction team. The role focuses on developing accurate, competitive cost estimates for materials, labour and equipment on large-scale projects, coordinating with field and operations teams to ensure commercial viability.

• 5–10 years of experience in construction estimating.
• Experience in asphalt, paving, roadway, heavy civil, grading or site development is highly advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, labour and equipment costs.
• Experience preparing bids and detailed project estimates.
• Ability to interpret drawings, plans, specifications and contracts.
• Analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with field personnel, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Willingness to take ownership of projects and work independently.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Estimator to join a well-established construction business in Orlando.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction estimator who enjoys working on large-scale projects and has a strong understanding of construction costs, materials, labour and equipment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing accurate, competitive estimates and bids, working closely with field and operational teams to ensure projects are commercially sound and achievable.

The Role

As an Estimator, you will:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labour and equipment.
• Analyse project plans, specifications, drawings and contracts.
• Review historical project data and current market pricing to produce accurate estimates.
• Obtain and maintain up-to-date pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Work closely with field and operations teams to understand project requirements and estimating assumptions.
• Prepare competitive bids and contribute to overall bid strategy.
• Provide clear estimating reports and communicate bid details to the project and field teams following award.
• Review alternative design and construction options and identify cost-effective solutions.
• Take responsibility for estimating larger and more complex projects with minimal supervision.
• Maintain accurate and organised estimating records.
• Ensure estimates comply with company policies, contractual requirements and applicable regulations.
• Contribute to a strong safety culture and professional working environment.

About You

We are looking for someone with:

• 5–10 years' experience in construction estimating.
• Experience within asphalt, paving, roadway, heavy civil, grading, site development or related construction would be highly advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, labour and equipment costs.
• Experience preparing bids and detailed project estimates.
• The ability to interpret construction drawings, plans, specifications and contracts.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to work effectively with field personnel, suppliers, subcontractors and other stakeholders.
• The confidence to take ownership of projects and work independently.

Software Experience

Experience with construction estimating and bidding software is required.

HCSS / HeavyBid experience is highly desirable.

Experience with other estimating, take-off or construction software will also be considered.
