Spence Brothers in Traverse City seeks an experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The role focuses on accurately estimating construction costs, supporting budgets, and guiding planning decisions across Michigan projects.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in commercial construction estimating, a degree in engineering or construction-related field, and proficiency in Office and Primavera/MS Project. Travel across Michigan may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
• Degree in engineering or construction related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and scheduling software (Primavera, MS Project).
• Local experience and subcontractor knowledge.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare preconstruction estimates for projects in planning phases.
• Prepare hard bid general contract bids.
• Prepare concrete and general trades packages.
• Assist with project bid decisions and presentations.
• Provide technical assistance in negotiating contracts and change orders.
• Assist with the preparation of facility studies.
