Job summary

Scott Humphrey has partnered with a large and reputable general contractor to assist in seeking a Senior Estimator to take a lead role within their preconstruction team. This individual will drive estimates, mentor team members, and serve as a key point of contact throughout the bidding process.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of estimating experience with a general contractor, strong leadership abilities, and experience in commercial construction.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of estimating experience with a general contractor.
• Experience in leading or mentoring a team.
• Experience in commercial construction (K-12 preferred).
• Ability to manage multiple bids in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and pricing strategies.
• Proficiency in estimating software and takeoff tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the estimating process for multiple projects simultaneously.
• Prepare detailed conceptual and hard-bid estimates.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure accurate pricing.
• Participate in bid reviews, scope analysis, and value engineering efforts.
• Support project handoff to operations teams upon award.
