Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating, in school, commercial, federal, state, government, and hospitality sectors.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Proficient in cost estimation software and tools.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of industrial and government construction regulations and standards.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Analyze blueprints, specs, proposals to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
• Research labor costs, materials, production times, and other data.
• Consult with clients, vendors, and foremen to discuss estimates and resolve issues.
• Collaborate with project management to understand scope and requirements.
• Assess cost effectiveness and track actual costs as projects develop.
• Prepare and present cost estimates and bid packages.
• Conduct risk analyses and advise on mitigations.
• Liaise with architects and engineers on changes to estimates.
• Prepare and present reports to senior management.
