Job summary

Artheon, an engineering and consulting firm in New York, seeks experienced Construction Estimators to support the NYC School Construction Authority contract. The role focuses on detailed cost estimates, change orders, and cost negotiations for architectural, electrical, mechanical, or plumbing scopes.

You will prepare estimates, review contract documents, and coordinate with project teams to validate pricing and scope. A bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, construction management, engineering or related field.
• Five years of full-time technical experience, with 3+ years in estimating for architectural, electrical, mechanical or plumbing.
• Education plus experience can be considered as an alternative.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review detailed cost estimates for all phases of design and construction.
• Develop quantity takeoffs and cost evaluations from drawings and documents.
• Review contract documents, RFIs, bulletins, and field records for changes.
• Evaluate added/deleted work including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
• Independently verify quantities using drawings, field measurements, and time records.
• Verify overhead, profit, bond, insurance, and other markups per contract requirements.
• Prepare independent estimates and support documentation for change order negotiations.
• Support construction claim reviews by analyzing submitted costs.
